Everyone should have a bucket list. This is the beginning of mine:
- Write a book
- Take a cooking class in Italy
- Parent another child – by birth or adoption or foster care
- Meet Jack Hannah
- Be debt-free (student loans are out of control)
- Live in NYC for a summer
- Finish my graduate degree
- Actually finish my yearly reading list before I add new books to it
- Learn a foreign language, preferably Italian
- Send snail mail once a week for a year to friends and family for birthdays, anniversaries, and just because
- Go wine tasting in Napa Valley
- Own an Ipod (November 25, 2009)
- Get married to someone I adore (love would be nice too)
- Buy a cookbook and make every recipe…a la Julie and Julia (blog not required)
- Write an article and have it published in a magazine
- Weigh in at 145 pounds, my pre-child weight, so I can wear this:
- Attend the BCS National Championship (and Ohio State wins)
- Attend the Final Four (Ohio State not required)
- Attend the Rose Bowl – and the parade
- Attend the Ohio State-Michigan game at The Horseshoe
- Go to the San Diego Zoo
- Take ballroom dance lessons – I have 2 left feet **sigh**
- Get my passport (shhh…I know…it’s almost a crime I don’t have one)
- Learn to bellydance
- Quit my Starbucks habit (12/23/2009), save the money, and go to Europe (or do something else fun)
- Skydive…yes…skydive
- Pay for the car behind me across the Chicago Skyway
- Get my picture taken on The Great Wall of China
- Meet the President (hopefully the current one)
- Raise money for a charity
- Serve on the board of a non-profit organization
- Tour Graceland
- Nominate someone for Extreme Home Makeover
- Host a 4-course dinner party for 6 of my girlfriends
- Run the 5K in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in someone’s honor and raise money doing it
- Visit all 50 states
- Write a grant for a service-learning program (December 2008)
- Present at NACE
- Do a random act of kindness once a week for the entire year (started 1/7/2010)
- Be a mystery shopper (12/07-6/08)
- Apply for a job at Harvard University
- Leave a HUGE tip for a waitress that really needs it
- Be on Oprah (time is running out)
- See Michael Jackson Prince in concert (time ran out)
- Create my own website (2/10/2010)
- Take a photography class
- Kayak at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
- Jog in Central Park
- Design and publish my own cross-stitch book
- Think of 50 more things to do…
